History
Chicken Dance, or Prairie Chicken Dance, isn't a recent phenomenon. Both the Blackfeet and Cree claim that the Chicken Dance began in there tribes with different stories. Chicken Dancers can be seen in black and white photos dating back to the early 1900s where dancers weren't wearing the bustle.
